What we know

What we don’t know yet

Its role in Earth’s ecosystem

The London study is the feeding evidence. Stegosaurus stenops had a strong bite for a dinosaurian plant-eater and could take ferns and cycads, not only soft leaves. In the Morrison floodplains that is a mid-height to low plant-eater with a different bite from the other herbivores in the same computer comparison, Plateosaurus and Erlikosaurus. The tail spikes are on the New York mount. These sources do not show a spike wound in another animal, so this page does not claim a predator that those spikes stopped.
